Donate Now -- -- Helmet Cost: $250-$300 Helmets are specially designed to protect firefighters from falling debris, injury and heat. Bulletproof Vest Cost: $600 These vests help protect law enforcement during life-threatening situations. -- AEDs Cost: $1,500 These portable, battery-operated devices allow first responders, schools, and the public to be prepared to give lifesaving assistance on scene if a citizen goes into cardiac arrest. Police Bicycle Cost: $600-$1,000 Police bicycles allow officers to provide rapid emergency response in areas that are not easily accessible by most police vehicles. -- Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Cost: $5,000 A SCBA provides rescuers with breathable air to allow them to safely explore smoke-filled areas during fires or other dangerous situations. Turnout Coat Cost: $1,000 – $1,300 Personal protective equipment worn by firefighters to protect them from heat and hazardous situations. Thermal Imaging Camera Cost: $10,000 These cameras allow first responders to see through smoke, darkness and heat permeable barriers to help locate the source of a fire or victims in need of rescue. Vehicle Extrication Tools Cost: $25,000 The lightweight cutting, spreading and ram tools quickly and safely assist first responders with extricating victims in car accidents and structural collapses. All-Terrain Vehicle Cost: $20,000 This maneuverable vehicle allows for rapid response to off-road incidents and natural disasters, as well as easier access at large events. Radio Cost: $2,500 - $3,000 Two-way radios are engineered to ensure quick communication between dispatchers and first responders to ensure safety on the ground during emergencies.
